The BBC has released the first teaser for BBC One’s Ripper Street, starring Matthew Macfadyen (Spooks).

Airing this autumn, the eight-part crime drama is set in and around Whitechapel in London's East End in 1889, during the aftermath of the Jack The Ripper murders.

The cast also includes Jerome Flynn (Game of Thrones), Adam Rothenberg (Alcatraz), Myanna Buring (White Heat), David Dawson (Luther) and Joe Gilgun (Misfits).
