BBC Three comedy ‘Uncle’ launches next week

Helm stars as Andy, a dissolute out-of work musician who forges an unlikely alliance with his 12-year-old nephew Errol after being morally blackmailed into looking after him by his chaotic sister Sam – all on the day Andy was planning to kill himself. Not a natural with either kids or responsibility, he tries to keep his new charge out of trouble while being knee-deep in it himself.

Episode 1, ‘Mind The Cracks’, airs at 10pm on Monday 13 January on BBC Three and the seemingly simple task of caring for his nephew spirals into a bizarre misadventure for the pair, involving a faked injury, a car crash, a visit to a gay club, a lot of lying, and some hard lessons in life.

The cast also includes Elliot Speller-Gillott as Erroll, Daisy Haggard as Sam, Con O’Neill as Val, Esther Smith as Melodie. Daniel Lawrence Taylor as Bruce, Sydney Rae Cressida White as Gwen.
