Composer Murray Gold has revealed he would be up for doing a musical episode of Doctor Who, in the style of Buffy the Vampire Slayer‘s ‘Once More with Feeling’.

Speaking to CultBox in an exclusive new interview, Gold commented: “What can I say: that would be fun!”

The composer has previously written original songs for ‘A Christmas Carol’ and ‘The Rings of Akhaten’.

Gold also hinted that fans should still expect to hear the Eleventh Doctor’s iconic theme, ‘I Am The Doctor’, even after Matt Smith leaves Doctor Who: “I’m not 100% certain they will let me drop that theme entirely…”

Buffy the Vampire Slayer‘s musical epiode aired in November 2001 and used the plot device that a demon compelled the characters to break into song at random moments to express hidden truths.
