'Sherlock': Series 3 first director confirmed

The first director for Sherlock's upcoming third series has been revealed as Jeremy Lovering.

Lovering's online CV includes "Director, one film of season 3".

The director's previous work includes episodes of Spooks and Teachers. He was also Second Unit Director on Simon Pegg's Hot Fuzz.

Co-creator Steven Moffat teased the resolution to Series 2's finale last year: "We know what we’re doing. If Sherlock Holmes is going to fake his own death, it better be the best faked death of all time. I think it’s pretty good."

Filming on the third series is set to begin this spring.
