The latest episode of Doctor Who concluded Toby Whithouse’s two-part story that began with ‘Under the Lake’.

While the first part hit some traditional notes, with a claustrophobic base-under-siege setting and terrific ghostly monsters, the conclusion brought in time-travel dynamics and a fourth-wall breaking introduction from the Doctor.

As well as the recommendations we have already made, here are some other similarly time-twisting Doctor Who stories we’d recommend checking out if you liked ‘Before the Flood’

Doctor Who The Aztecs

The rules of time travel used to be pretty flexible. Way back in ‘The Aztecs’, Barbara was told in no uncertain terms that “… you can’t rewrite history! Not one line!” when she sought to halt human sacrifice amongst the people who has mistaken her for their God.

Doctor Who Brigadier Mawdryn Undead

The dangers of meeting yourself were explored when the Fifth Doctor encountered two versions of the same old friend.

With the Doctor about to give up his remaining regenerations to help some misguided criminals and save his companions, two different vintages of the Brigadier, from 1977 and 1983, met with explosive consequences.
