Stewart persuades Ellie to help him uncover the mysterious circumstances of Callum’s death.

As Stewart delves deeper into the apparent suicide of his best friend he uncovers secrets and lies in Stonemouth’s close-knit community. He soon realises that his questions are ruffling feathers: even his godfather, local businessman Mike McAvett, is behaving strangely, quizzing Stewart and warning him off.

At Callum’s funeral, Stewart feels the threatening eyes of Don Murston and Powell Imrie on him at every turn, and realises that time is running out.

Old friend Ferg is torn between protecting Stewart and his own secret desire to keep him in town – little realising Stewart’s not the only one in danger. And then there’s Ellie. Convinced he’s lost his true love for good, Stewart faces up to the enormity of the mistake he made two years ago.

Despite their troubled past, Stewart and Ellie race against to clock to right the wrongs of Stonemouth’s troubles and expose the sinister forces behind Callum’s death.
