One of Us is a new thriller from the creators of The Missing.

Set in the Highlands of Scotland and Edinburgh, BBC One’s four-part drama series sees a horrific double murder rock the lives of two families living side by side in rural Scotland.

Episode 1: ‘The Storm’

Adam Elliot and Grace Douglas are childhood sweethearts just back from their honeymoon, when they are brutally murdered.

Their families, neighbours in the remote Scottish Highland village of Braeston, are devastated. But their world is turned upside down when the murderer arrives on their doorstep the night after the killing. A storm has been raging, and his car comes off the road. When the two families find him, badly injured, they are faced with a terrible dilemma.

In the search for answers, skeletons are unearthed and old wounds reopened. Everyone has secrets, but when the lines between right and wrong, good and bad, and true and false become blurred, how do you cope with the lasting and deadly consequences?

 

Episode 2: ‘Beneath the Surface’

When the police come knocking, the Elliots and Douglases have to act fast. Meanwhile Juliet’s actions have tragic and unexpected consequences.

After all coming to a decision to hide their terrible secret from the police, suspicion and guilt takes its toll on both the Elliot and Douglas families.

Bill and Moira turn on each other after lying to protect their son Jamie, and it’s clear Bill is keeping things from his wife. The Elliots struggle to hold it together as the police, on the trail of Lee, interview them, with Louise making a big slip-up. Later, when Louise makes a shocking discovery, it is left to Claire to take action.

After confessing all to his partner, Peter decides to make an important journey. Meanwhile, Juliet now has the finances to organise her daughter’s operation, but tragedy soon strikes.

 

Episode 3: ‘Glenarvon Loch’

The police close in on the two families, leading to a shocking confession. Claire makes an intriguing discovery, while Juliet’s life is thrown into turmoil.

Highly suspicious of the two families, Detective Juliet interviews both Louise and Bill and finds a hole in their story. Things take a turn for the worse when Jamie decides to take matters into his own hands and contacts the police.

As the Elliot and Douglas families gather for Adam and Grace’s funeral, the police descend upon them, leading to a shocking confession – but a mysterious discovery could turn the case on its head.
