Whatever your thoughts on later seasons of The Simpsons, 20th Century Fox’s DVD releases have always been worth seeking out. Packed with extras and behind the scenes materials, fans were understandably disappointed when the disc releases were put on hold.
The last release to date, of season 17, came in December 2014. Now, three years on, The Simpsons DVD releases are starting again.
The announcement was made at San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend, and The Simpsons Season 18 will arrive in the US on December 5th as a four-disc set. Each episode will have an audio commentary. Commentaries have also been recorded for seasons 19 and 20, but the releases of those will only go ahead if sales are good.
A UK release hasn’t yet been confirmed, but it’s a fair bet to expect it around December too.
