Sarah Phelps’ new WWI medics drama The Crimson Field will begin next month.

Starring Oona Chaplin (The Hour), Hermione Norris (Spooks), Suranne Jones (Scott And Bailey) and Kevin Doyle (Downton Abbey), the six-part series launches on at 9pm on Sunday 6 April on BBC One.

The Crimson Field follows the lives of a team of doctors, nurses and women volunteers who work together in a tented field hospital healing the bodies and souls of men wounded in the trenches.
