Ratings round-up: ‘The Bletchley Circle’ is bad news for ‘Good Cop’

Posted Filed under

Despite this being the ninth series and the recent furore caused by the actors over their alleged script input, New Tricks continues to go from strength to to strength. 7.1m (29.2%) people tuned in on Monday 10th September, seeing an increase on the week before. This is a trend which may continue next week as James Bolam’s replacement, Denis Lawson, is introduced.

Over on ITV1 in the same slot, Leaving, starring Harry Potter‘s Helen McCrory, managed 3.7m (14.4%) viewers for its first episode of three – a very respectable figure considering the competition.

Mrs Biggs continued strongly on ITV1 on Wednesday 12th with 4.22m and on Thursday The Bletchley Circle beat BBC One’s Good Cop once again with 4.3m (19.2%) viewers against 3.5m (16.6%) for Warren Brown’s police drama.

Away from the main channels, Celebrity Juice continues to perform inexplicably well for ITV2, attracting 1.5m (8.5%) viewers despite the recent critical mauling of Keith Lemon: The Film.
