Ratings round-up: ‘Black Mirror’ slips slightly to 1.2m

The second episode of Charlie Brooker’s Black Mirror averaged 1.2m viewers and a 7.2% audience share for Channel 4 on Monday.

With the help of Channel 4+1 the anthology show managed to just beat Brooker’s Weekly Wipe which attracted 1.1m viewers for BBC Two the Thursday before.

Dancing on the Edge also continued on Monday and the fourth episode drew an audience of 1.9m (8%) viewers.

Tuesday was a game of two halves as the success of Death in Paradise continued with 6.1m (24.8%) viewers; a figure only slightly down on last week’s episode despite competition from the Champions League on ITV. The highest Channel 5 could manage was 881k (3.6%) for CSI, while the acclaimed Channel 4 drama Utopia could sadly only muster a lowly 530k (3.5%) viewers.

On Wednesday Derek continued to slide with 1.1m (5.7%) viewers tuning in for Ricky Gervais’ care home comedy. Meanwhile, over on Channel 5, NCIS did the business as usual with 1.5m (6.3%) viewers.
