The production team tweeted yesterday: “It’s true: @SPACEchannel has decided to not renew #PrimevalNewWorld. We are in talks with other international broadcasters — stay tuned!”

The “older, darker and scarier” Primeval spin-off was announced by Canadian television channel Space in 2011, with production based in Vancouver.

Primeval: New World‘s 13-part first season began in the UK last month and is currently airing at 9pm on Tuesday nights on Watch.
