Doctor Who star Peter Capaldi says there are several monsters from the show’s classic era that he’d like to see return.

In his two seasons as the Doctor so far, the actor has taken on the Daleks, the Cybermen, Davros, the Zygons and the Master (now regenerated as Missy).

In a new video on the official Doctor Who YouTube channel, Capaldi commented: “There’s lots of wonderful Doctor Who monsters I like. I’d like to see the Daemons [return], they were an extraordinary sort of precursor to the Weeping Angels.”

He also revealed: “I’d like the Axons to come back.”

He added: “I love the Autons too! I’d like to have a go at the Autons, I think we should have them back, they’re great. I think we should make them very, very beautiful and sort of Harrods mannequins. Because we tend to get a bit sort of lumpy Poundshop mannequins as Autons. We should get elegant Vogue model type [ones], that’d be quite creepy and quite glamorous too.”
