Noel Fielding teases Series 2 of ‘Luxury Comedy’

Noel Fielding has described the new series of his E4 show Luxury Comedy as “like an insect version of the Antiques Roadshow“.

Featuring a mixture of live action and animation, Series 2 takes place in a coffee shop on the edge of a volcano in Hawaii, with Noel and the gang – Andy Warhol (Tom Meeton), Dolly (Dolly Wells) and Smooth the anteater (Michael Fielding) – caught up in a series of magical adventures.

Highlights in Series 2 will include trying to destroy a monster called Fantasy Block in an attempt to save their only viewer from an asteroid and exploring the subject of disaffected youth while being threatened by a race of ultra-cool alien cucumbers.

Noel Fielding’s Luxury Comedy launched on E4 in January 2012.

Fiona McDermott, E4’s Deputy Head of Comedy commented: “Luxury Comedy remains unlike any other comedy on your TV and that’s the core of its brilliance. Noel and team have taken the characters from series one and given them a new home, new ideas and lost nothing of the original magic of the show. It’s a total treat and we’re so proud to have it on E4.”

Nigel Coan, co-director and co-writer added: “Look at all the colours.”

Guest stars will include Richard Ayoade (The IT Crowd), Steve Oram (Sightseers), Simon Farnaby (Horrible Histories) and Rich Fulcher (The Mighty Boosh), with new music from the Loose Tapestries (Sergio Pizzorno of Kasabian and Noel Fielding).
