‘New Tricks’ to return for Series 9 and Series 10

Amanda, Dennis, Alun and James are a dream team that BBC One viewers have taken to their hearts and I’m thrilled the show will be back on our screens for two more years.”

Starring Amanda Redman, Dennis Waterman, Alun Armstrong and James Bolam, New Tricks follows an unconventional bunch of ex-coppers brought out of retirement to work on unsolved and open cases.

Series 8 concluded on BBC One last night, with ratings for the series peaking at 9.7 million.

Series 9 and Series 10 will each comprise of 10 new episodes.

Executive producer Richard Burrell added: “The show’s ability to be warm and humorous and tackle darker issues simultaneously makes it distinctive from other crime dramas. The audience’s response to the current series of New Tricks has been phenomenal and I’m delighted we are able to repay their loyalty with another two brand new 10-part series.”

Filming on Series 9 will begin later this year.
