Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner will play Jean Grey in the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse movie.

Director Bryan Singer revealed the news on Twitter, also confirming that Mud‘s Tye Sheridan will play Cyclops and House of Anubis star Alexandra Shipp will play Storm.

Turner has played Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones since 2011.

The follow-up to X-Men: Days Of Future Past begins filming in April and is due to arrive in UK cinemas in May 2016.

Returning cast members include James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult. They’ll be joined by Oscar Isaac (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) as En Sabah Nur/Apocalypse.

The new season of Game of Thrones begins on Sky Atlantic on Monday 13 April.
