Chris Chibnall: No ‘imminent chance’ of new ‘Torchwood’

Posted Filed under

Discussing if Torchwood will ever come back, Chibnall exclusively told CultBox: “It doesn’t seem to be there’s an imminent chance of it, everybody is off doing other things; Eve [Myles] has her own show coming up on BBC One. So it’s really up to Russell [T Davies]. If he’s got a story to tell in that world then it may happen. I think there’s an infinite number of stories you could do.”

Torchwood was last seen on BBC One with the ten-part Miracle Day series, which concluded in September 2011.

Asked if he would like to be involved with Torchwood again, Chibnall added: “I always will with Russell – I’d always work on Torchwood, but that’s absolutely in Russell’s gist, it’s not in mine … I think there’s always stories you could tell in Torchwood.”

The penultimate episode of Broadchurch airs on ITV at 9pm tonight.
