BBC Three orders second season of ‘Josh’

Josh Widdicombe’s BBC Three sitcom Josh will return for a new six-part season next year.

Written by Widdicombe with Tom Craine, the comedy series follows Josh and two mates – Elis James as Owen and Beattie Edmondson as Kate – living in a flatshare.

Josh Widdicombe commented: “Writing and making Josh was the best job I have ever had so I am absolutely delighted that the BBC have given us the chance to make six more episodes. I look forward to subjecting the characters of Josh, Kate, Owen and Geoff to further misfortune and adding more fuel to the social media love-in about Elis James’s legs.”

Damian Kavanagh, Controller of BBC Three, added: “We love Josh and it’s a hit with audiences which is why it’s coming back to BBC Three. Who doesn’t want more Geoff in their life?”

Myfanwy Moore, Controller of BBC Comedy Production, said: “We’re thrilled that Josh and friends are joining us on the sofa for another series! Pool party anyone?”

The first season launched last month and featured Jennifer Saunders (Absolutely Fabulous) as Kate’s mother, with Romesh Ranganathan (Mock the Week), James Acaster (8 Out of 10 Cats) and The Chuckle Brothers.
