The cast also includes O-T Fagbenle (Looking), Robert Lonsdale (From Here To Eternity), Ewan Stewart (Titanic), Lorraine Ashbourne (Playing The Field), Anna Skellern (Lip Service), Gary Beadle (EastEnders) and Lee Boardman (Inspector George Gently).

The official synopsis reads: “[The Interceptor] delves into the adventures of a dedicated surveillance team known as the UNIT. Keeping their quarries under ultra-tight surveillance, they take us into the real world inhabited by the criminals of today. And it’s easy to recognise because it’s the same world the rest of us inhabit.”

EastEnders actress Jo Joyner will play Ash’s wife and Waking the Dead’s Trevor Eve will play ruthless criminal Roach, Ash’s ultimate target.

Directed by Farren Blackburn (Luther, The Fades), The Interceptor begins filming in London next month and will air on BBC One this autumn.
