The drill for the Doctor Who Christmas special, Twice Upon A Time, is already pretty well known. Steven Moffat has written the episode, that sees Peter Capaldi depart the TARDIS, ready for Jodie Whittaker to move in. Then, incoming showrunner Chris Chibnall has penned Whittaker’s first moment at the end of the episode.

In a new interview, Moffat has been chatting about that moment.

Doctor Who has an amazing future, and I’ve seen part of it”, he said. “I’ve seen Jodie’s first scene as the Doctor, and trust me, we are in for a thrill ride. She is already brilliant”.

He added that “in such a tiny moment. she’s given us the Doctor we’ve always known, but in, to say the least, a new way. We are in for a very exciting run”.

Twice Upon A Time screens on Christmas Day on BBC One.
