Taking place at BFI Southbank as part of their year-long 50th anniversary celebrations, the screening was followed by a highly entertaining Q&A with actors Frazer Hines (Jamie) and Tony Selby (Sabalom Glitz), script editor Eric Saward, costume designer Grahame Flynn, and visual effects designer Mike Kelt.

» Frazer Hines: “It was a joy to go to work. I feel like giving the BBC the money back. But I won’t.”
» Eric Saward: “We decided to make Colin’s Doctor quite unpleasant. That was all deliberate.”
» Mike Kelt: “After Star Wars came out we had to step up to the plate.”
» Eric Saward: “[If I was writing the 50th anniversary special]… I’d panic, probably.”
» Frazer Hines: “Me and Colin Baker shared the same woman once… not at the same time.”
» Grahame Flynn: “John Nathan Turner’s brief [for the Sixth Doctor’s costume] was ‘circus-like’.”
» Frazer Hines: “All the companions should have Scottish accents.”
The BFI’s 50th anniversary celebrations continue next month with a screening of Sylvester McCoy’s ‘Remembrance of the Daleks’ at 2pm on Saturday 27 July.
