Actor Tom Scurr joins the cast of Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks this week as aristocratic new fresher, Barney.

"Only Fools And Horses was simply brilliant and I could watch it for hours."

"You’ve Been Framed - come on, whether it’s drunken old ladies falling over at a wedding or Harry Hill giving a dog the voice of Bernard Bresslaw, that’s the good stuff."

Favourite TV show to watch before going to sleep:

"I can’t watch telly just before I go to sleep - I just won’t go to sleep - but there are certain shows that have that wonderful feeling of childhood half-elevenishness. The Rockford Files is a good example. Great theme tune."

TV show that reminds you of your childhood:

"Bagpuss, if we’re going right back. So evocative. And repetitive. Also The Clangers. And Chorlton And The Wheelies. The mid seventies was a golden age for TV-watching toddlers."

TV show that reminds you of being a teenager:

"It’s a weird one, but I think the show that takes me back to those years the most is Inspector Morse. It was new around then, and I was a) living near Oxford and b) miserable. So it makes sense when you think about it. ‘Lewis!’"

Favourite “guilty pleasure” TV show :

"Well, I can’t stand The Apprentice, I’ve never seen ‘TOWIE’… I suppose it would be… Strictly Come Dancing. The family love it. And Total Wipeout, naturally."

"Why, Friends, of course! The only possible way through a weekend morning. Have you tried Saturday Kitchen hungover? The stressful interviews… the fancy ingredients… I’m nauseous just thinking about it. Get me to Central Perk and show me some comedy I’ve seen a million times before."
