'Back to the Future' vs. 'Back to the Future: Part II': Enchantment Under The Sea dance comparison

The exact recreation of sequences from the first movie was one of the greatest things about the second entry in the Back to the Future trilogy. But do the remade scenes at Hill Valley High School’s Enchantment Under The Sea dance match up with the originals? Not quite; but it’s still fun to see how close they came...

'Back to the Future' hoverboard test footage

WARNING: If you still believe the story perpetuated by Robert Zemeckis back in 1989 – to whit the hoverboards used in Back to the Future: Part II were real and only government concerns were preventing them being released onto the mass market – it’s probably best you stop reading now and don’t click on the link below.

‘Need a lift?’

Fans of the original Back to the Future movies hanker for a fourth film like Biff Tannen craves something stronger than light beer. A corner of their hearts will always resemble the Cafe ‘80s in BTTF2 – ‘where it’s always morning in America, even in the afternoon’ – and nothing would delight them more than a return to Hill Valley on a hoverboard, or a trip to Doc Brown’s digs in a DeLorean.

Of course, time and circumstance has rendered the possibility of a fourth instalment in the saga all but impossible, but this clip, produced for Spike’s 2010 Scream Awards, is a tiny taster of what might have been.

The promo is, of course, based on the trailer for the first Back to the Future movie. To see how painstakingly the producers recreated the original, watch the two videos side-by-side here...
